Three sessions down, two to go!
It has been a fantastic summer so far, with Camp Kudzu serving more than 500 campers in the first three consecutive overnight sessions, all thanks to the hard work and dedication of 325 amazing volunteers. As we gear up for the balance of our 2019 summer programs, we are excited to have our largest number of day campers registered for SPROUTS. This is in addition to the 201 excited campers currently registered for our final overnight session at Camp Barney later this month!
One of the key drivers to our success has been our expansion of our Kudzu Community and our efforts to strengthen our relationships with our camper families and volunteers. We have already hosted several gatherings in conjunction to our 20th Anniversary and have several more events planned over the next several months. This weekend we will be hosting two SOLD-OUT gatherings, including a Kudzu Family Picnic with Eliot Fry in Roswell, while our South Georgia Kudzu families and friends cheer on the Savannah Bananas at Saturday night’s home game! Please be on the lookout for future events and hold the date for our 2019 Sugar Bowl tournament, scheduled for Sunday, September 22.
Most would agree “the value and impact of what Camp Kudzu provides is priceless.” Although many of our families pay a reduced fee for summer camp, the total impact and value of what each camper receives, including direct, indirect costs, medical services, and supplies would exceed $3,500 per camper. Add to that the incredible contributions from our Camp Partners like Camp Twin Lakes, who provide an additional $550 subsidy for each camper…
We need your help! As we focus on the home stretch, we are doing everything we can to make sure all campers have the opportunity to participate in summer camp. This year we will have added 172 NEW campers to our Camp Kudzu Community, including 24 campers from South Georgia. We are trying to send an additional 12 campers on scholarship; can you help us make that happen? If so, please donate today to make a difference.
Thank you for being part of our incredible Camp Kudzu Community!
