Camp KudZoom & Summer P.A.C.K. were an Innovative Success!
The Kudzu community is resilient, energetic, and committed. These qualities were strengthened this summer as we transitioned our traditional overnight camp sessions to a virtual camp experience: Camp KudZoom!
Campers received a Summer P.A.C.K. with activity supplies, a 2020 Camp Kudzu T-shirt, custom Kudzu stickers, a camp snack, and more. After registering on a customized online platform, they were placed in cabins with other campers around their age and some fantastic volunteer counselors. Throughout the week there were activities they could complete as their leisure, cabin hangouts on Zoom, live music with Scott & Shawn, live evening programs each night, and more!
While we all wished that we were physically together at camp, it was incredible to see our campers and volunteers learn new diabetes skills, connect with old friends, make new friends, dance like we were in the dining hall, laugh together, and for many shed a tear at the end of the week as if we were finishing a traditional session of camp.
If you missed out on KudZoom, don’t worry! We will be planning more virtual events in the coming months and would love to see you on the screen! We are so grateful for every camper, family member, volunteer, and donor who made Camp KudZoom possible!
