The Results Are In: Parents report fewer unscheduled hospital visits for children with T1D who attend Camp Kudzu programs
Over the past five years, our research study in partnership with Clemson University has illustrated significant growth in the level of care and support we provide at Camp Kudzu. Specifically, we have observed that youth who attend our camp programs demonstrate greater autonomy, competence and relatedness as a result of the education and support they receive, which enables them to better manage their diabetes and improve their overall quality of life.
According to data from parents, higher rates of attendance at Camp Kudzu is associated with lower rates of unscheduled hospital visits. This is a clear, remarkable indication of the effectiveness of our programs, and we are immensely proud to play a part in improving diabetes management and overall health outcomes for our campers and their families.
We are excited to share more of these research results with you soon, and with your ongoing support, we will continue to build on our growing success.
