Columbus was a Splash!

On September 28, in an event that showcased Camp Kudzu’s expanding outreach efforts, 13 campers and their families whitewater rafted down the Chattahoochee River in Columbus, GA.  

“This was our first event that we put together in Columbus, and it was a great opportunity for us to start forming a community in the area that continues outside the camp experience,” said Whitney LeHew, Camp Kudzu’s Outreach Manager. 

While campers tackled the river, their families mingled at a nearby coffee shop, sharing experiences and tips for managing type 1 diabetes. Many family members expressed excitement about being able to connect with other families with similar experiences, and indicated they were eagerly awaiting more opportunities like this in the future.
